The Australian Innovators

With nearly half a century of Australian manufacturing experience, Avida RV are pushing the boundaries with strength, style and support.

Avida RV have been industry innovators in Australia since 1965, when Bruce Binns began building motorhomes at his home in Sydney. Over time, his business boomed, moving to new and larger manufacturing locations as demand increased for his Australianmade motorhomes in a growing market. Today, the company is still family-owned, and is dedicated to offering their customers choice, luxury and convenience.

You might know Avida as the ‘makers of the Australian Winnebago’, because up until 2013, the company was known under that name. A trademark registered in Australia, their motorhomes have no association with the Winnebago of the United States, instead manufacturing RVs completely designed for the Australian experience – with our wildly varying climate, dusty roads and unique environments.

While the Avida name change brings the company firmly into the 21st century, it’s the tireless work ethics of yesteryear that have seen Bruce and his family celebrate their success. Proud to have been creating jobs for Australian locals in an industry that has been increasingly exported overseas, Avida now have two large factories in NSW after rapid expansion in the last fifteen years. These days, Avida employs over 170 people who work together to produce 600 RVs a year, that are sold across thirteen dealers in a network that stretches right across Australia and across the ditch to New Zealand.

What’s been the key to Avida’s success? It comes down to a few things: they build a diverse range to suit their customers’ diverse needs, they offer the complete package in after-sales support and customer service, and their innovative and creative credentials are true blue.

Avida’s motorhome range offers something for everyone; from campervans with the essentials to motorhomes suited for family holidays to luxurious RVs designed for comfortable extended travelling.

For example, the Diversion campervan boasts sleeping for four, is fully selfcontained and includes safety features like airbags, an ABS braking system and ESP stability control: it’s perfect for families who want to see Australia the way it was meant to be explored.

The Esperance is a unique and lavish motorhome, offering a huge amount of space by virtue of a one-touch slide-out, and total peace of mind in a combination built to high standards and with quality appliances.

For those who want it all, the Longreach is the ultimate in Avida touring, with the utmost attention paid to all the details, from the full rear ensuite and comfortable lounge, to the integrated solar panels and external entertainment system.

In 2013, Avida released the Sapphire caravan to great acclaim; their first caravan model in 35 years. Built to promote the values of freedom, convenience and valuefor- money, the Sapphire is a staggeringly well-equipped van with heaps of storage and everything you might need to travel Australia in comfort and with confidence.

Peace of mind comes standard with an Avida RV, starting with their renowned Avida Guarantee – which, for their 50th birthday celebrations, is a three year or one million kilometre factory warranty and a five year structural guarantee (limited time). Avida also offers an emergency roadside assistance program, free for the first two years, offering 24/7 help when the unexpected occurs, even in remote locations. You can also keep in touch with likeminded travellers and reap the rewards from discounts, education, and heaps of benefits available to members of the WRV Club. Even your personal belongings are secure, with an insurance policy available to suit your needs, including trailers, pets, and automatic contents cover up to $10,000 for WRV Club members.
