Avida Caravans launched the new Topaz Caravan model range at the Adelaide caravan and Camping Show, further enhancing Avida’s caravan range already offered by the Avida Sapphire caravan range.

Avida Topaz offers the same as Sapphire in terms of travel length, body type, suspension options, layout designs, external wall colour options and interior fabric collections and both Topaz and Sapphire now can claim to be the strongest on the market and best supported after the sale.

Built strong for the tough Australian Conditions

Where the Avida Topaz range differs from the Avida Sapphire range is in the interior look and additional equipment as standard specification cosmetic additions outside.

Outside, Topaz varies its appearance from the current Sapphire models by the addition of a striking decal along each side, a black checker-plate gas bottle cover and a neat finishing strip along the top of all checker plate. The two 80w solar panels with regulator will ensure that the 100 amp deep cycle battery remains fully charged to supply power no matter where you are.

Topaz now has a redesigned rear bumper bar, there is a water tap on the A frame to access the twin fresh water tanks, the A frame is supported by a triple lock jockey wheel, Multi Terrain models have checker plate on the rear wall and the entry step is now electrically operated.

Inside, whilst adopting 15 similar interior layouts as the Sapphire range including the top of the range 24’ caravan with electric slide out, Topaz attracts the eye with its ultra-modern and glossy look. The ceiling is gloss white and the walls are white, contrasting well with the large dark tinted windows.

Immediate attention is taken by the furniture, particularly the flat cabinet doors (whereas Sapphire are curved) which are a high gloss and available in three contrasting colours and when combined with the mood and main LED lighting, the effect is spectacular.

There is now a choice of cabinet doors, splash back and bench tops which, as well as the thirteen interior fabric collections and three external wall colours, allows customers greater flexibility in personalizing their caravan.

Topaz has as standard specification, the new Dometic 190lt AES 2 door refrigerator and its curved styling and gloss black finish compliments the overall décor.

The bathrooms in Topaz are roomy and offer a larger shower pan with shower door. The vanity is a modern white pedestal basin with a striking mixer tap and to complete the package, the bathroom has a far wider and solid sliding door.

The Avida Sapphire caravan range was only launched to the Australian market late in 2013 and already they are the talk of the Caravan Industry.

Stronger and lighter than other caravans manufactured in Australia today, Avida caravans have set a new benchmark for toughness, style and customer support.

For over 40 years, the majority of caravan manufacturers have continued the make their vans in the same way as they did decades before, essentially offering a heavy chassis necessary to support a very lightweight body constructed mostly of cheaper Meranti timber, thinly lined with wispy insulation and skinned with aluminium sheeting susceptible to water leaks from the many joins and easily damaged by road debris and hail, certainly not sturdy by anyone’s definition.

Avida has revolutionised the caravan market in Australia by introducing a caravan range that offers strength yet is lighter than most equivalent caravans thus is more stable and easier to tow.

Unlike the others, much of the strength of an Avida caravan is in the body construction which offers body panels up to around four times thicker than the average caravan, fully insulated with dense polystyrene foam in the floor, wall and the roof and is the only locally manufactured caravan that offers full sandwich panel construction to cope with the toughest of Australian roads.

The one piece floor, wall and roof panels eliminates any chance of rot occurring as often happens with timber, as Avida ensures each panel is precision cut by computer controlled equipment and utilises the latest quality materials in the construction.

Unique features not found in other caravans, only Avida caravans, include the fully metal lined under floor with next to no cables, pipes or protrusions under the floor to minimise damage, the strong Duragal 150mm (6”) chassis rails, furniture supported by metal plates embedded into the body and screwed and glued, not stapled like others and of course, the smooth, stylish outer fibreglass skin which not only looks good but is dent resistant and impervious to weather.

A good example of the quality manufacturing is in the Avida caravan floor.

The standard caravan floor found in most other caravans is basic 12mm thick (less than ½ inch) non insulated plywood sheet. An Avida caravan floor by comparison is over four times thicker at 49mm (almost two inches thick) comprising, two top and two bottom sheets, overlapped at the sheet joins to prevent floor creak and movement. Sandwiched between the plywood sheets is 35mm dense insulation for superb temperature and noise control.

The vinyl floor covering, offering a 15 year warranty is sandwiched to the top panel and underneath, a one piece aluminium skin, protects the caravan’s under floor against rocks, water, and other road debris.

To back the claims made for Avida Caravans, each caravan is offered with a free nationwide customer care package that includes a three year factory backed warranty, double that offered by most other manufacturers plus Avida’s five year structural guarantee, two years free emergency roadside assist, free first service* and access to Australia’s largest accredited nationwide RV service network, all for your own peace of mind.

Avida has been building motorhomes for almost 50 years and understands the road conditions that are likely to be confronted around Australia. Avida caravans are designed with that in mind.
